The Music Theory Flip Book, Vol. I is a little quiz book for first and second year piano students.    It's designed for a parent to "flip" through periodically with their child.   Find it at the top of the "Exercises" page by clicking the button on the left.

"The Power of Habit" is a useful new book by New York Times reporter Charles Duhigg.  The book explores the scientific research around how habits are formed and rule how we do things.   As I read this book, I quickly realized that learning and performing a piece of music matches very closely the mechanics of habit formation.   Reading the book has informed how I practice and given me new ideas about how to teach "practicing".  For a very entertaining introduction to the book you could read Duhigg's article from a recent NY Times Sunday Magazine:

All the pianists I know are equally amazed (and a little frightened) by Yuja Wang's amazing virtuosity.   Here's a video of her playing Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee".https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yZPrrboTkY
